Job Descriptions for McKinney Vento Tutor/Advocate

Midland School District has an immediate opening for a part time tutor/advocate to provide academic support in math and reading to at-risk students in grades kindergarten through sixth grades at Midland Elementary School.  The tutor/advocate will also be responsible for contacting parents/guardians on a monthly basis for these at-risk students and assisting the District Liaison in meeting the educational needs of these at-risk students. This position will also require the maintaining of accurate records to document the support and interventions provided as well as documenting contacts with parents/guardians.  The tutor/advocate will work under the direction of the classroom teachers and the District McKinney Vento Liaison.  The person hired for this position will be required to work 25 – 30 hours per week and will be paid at the rate of $13.00 per hour.  There are no benefits with this position.  An applicant considered for this position must have at least a high school diploma or the equivalent.
